Player Overview
Jalen Mills played four years at LSU, being named to the CBS Sports All-American Team in his senior season. A leg injury prevented him from playing a full year his senior season.
Mills might be a bit undersized to be an imposing free safety in the NFL, and from what I've watched isn't very physical. He may have to transition to corner at the next level, which is a position he's been practicing at the Senior Bowl.
Strengths
- Good size to play cornerback in the NFL.
- Watched him blitz the quarterback well against Alabama.
Weaknesses
- Watched three games of his and frequently saw him on the losing end of passing plays. Couldn't get over in time to stop huge plays by Sammie Coates of Auburn. When going man-to-man with a receiver, quarterbacks had no issue throwing in his direction.
- He ain't bout that tackling life in the run game. Saw him jog it out when he was not within 5-yards or so of running plays. Avoided Derrick Henry like he was covered in Ebola sauce.
Southeastern's Harlan Miller and #LSU's Jalen Mills are the South's starters at cornerback - both out wide.

In press CB drills, #LSU's Jalen Mills and SELou Harlan Miller looked the best. Noted for press coverage teams. #SeniorBowl

How He Would Fit on the Redskins
To be completely honest, I don't see Mills as a member of the Redskins. I can't imagine McCloughan pulling the trigger on a guy who doesn't show a certain amount of toughness, violence and physicality on the field.
