It helps that Cousins has been more accurate throwing down the field. On passes that travel 20 or more yards through the air, Cousins is third in the NFL in attempts (68) and fifth in completion percentage (48.5). But he’s first in yards gained on such throws (1,202), according to ESPN Stats & Information. He’s third in net yards per attempt overall at 8.11. It's not a bad way to enter into another offseason of contract discussions.
"No matter how big or small, it’s all about leverage," he said. "If Jamison Crowder [5-foot-8, 182 pounds] was blitzing or running at me and I’m standing straight up, he would push me back if he caught me under my chest. ... It’s more just having good leverage and giving it all the strength I’ve got."
That’s something he struggled to do in the loss to Carolina, though he was in the game during those situations. He also was hit numerous times on his shoulder and, as the game wore on, his discomfort became obvious. In the two games he played with the injury, Reed caught a combined two passes for 16 yards. He has 61 catches this season.
WR Pierre Garçon—He recently said “D.C. is where I want to be” and cited his family and business interests in the area. That doesn’t mean he automatically will be back with the Redskins. He could sign up the road with the Ravens or Eagles and still be close enough to monitor his business and spend quality time with his family. But if it comes down to a choice between Jackson and Garçon it seems likely that the Redskins would make their pitch to the latter. However, that doesn’t mean that his return is automatic.
