Washington signed LB Nick Moody to the active roster, per source.— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) December 13, 2016
The Washington Redskins have reportedly signed LB Nick Moody to the active roster. Moody(6’1”, 241 lbs) was originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 6th round out of FSU in 2013. He was released by the 49ers after being active for 20 games, starting two of them. He spent time on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad before being signed to the 53-man roster in November. Two of his 3 NFL season have ended on injured reserve, 2013(hand) and 2015(hamstring).
The Redskins lost starting ILB Will Compton in last week’s game against the Eagles with a PCL strain that could cause him to miss time. They also lost rookie Su’a Cravens with an elbow strain. Martrell Spaight took Compton’s spot and will start this week if he can’t go. The team also has special teams ace Terence Garvin as backup, but could use more depth going into Monday night’s game against the Panthers. The move hasn’t been confirmed by the team, and there will need to be a corresponding roster move made to make room for Moody.
