Despair Not, The Redskins Could Go 3-1 Without One Of Their Best Players

Despite the loss to one of the best teams in the NFL the Redskins are in a good position during this stretch without Trent Williams

NFL: Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

I know yesterday was a little rough. The team never had the lead and was playing catch up all day. Cousins and the pass game had another banner day while the defense fell flat. The Redskins lost to one of the best teams in the NFL. While a loss never feels good I’m here to tell you the Redskins have already exceeded expectations during this stretch without Trent Williams. Remember before the season started and we all were dreading the back half of this schedule? Remember when Trent’s suspension was announced to take place during the “toughest four game stretch of the season”? Well this stretch looks a little bit more kind to us right now.

The Redskins have defeated the Vikings and Packers and have a chance to beat the Cardinals next week. This is not an everything is going to take care of itself post, rather it’s a motivational post of sorts. One to remind everyone that if this team continues to play at the level they did vs. Green Bay, has a legit chance of winning the vast majority of their remaining games and getting a Wild Card birth. Right now the focus is on the Cardinals, who can be beat. As always it will require vigilance and discipline but I’m here to tell you the Redskins season and playoff hopes are far from over or predictable.

After the Cardinals game the Redskins will get back arguably their best player in Trent Williams. After the Cardinals the Redskins face the Eagles, Panthers, Bears, and Giants. All four of those games are winnable. The Skins have already beaten two teams listed there. This team has obvious holes, particularly on the defensive side of the ball yet, in my opinion, they are still playing at a considerably high level given all of their circumstances. As of today the Redskins could still finish this season 11-4-1.

Bring on the Cardinals!
