The Washington Redskins are in the playoff hunt with a 5-3-1 record and they would be the 6th seed if the season ended today. Washington got te much needed win against the Vikings on Sunday, their first since October 16th over the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 2016 has been frustrating to watch at times, with the team starting off with two home losses, followed by a four game win streak, then a last minute loss, and a tie. Two games the team should have won well before the final seconds.
Where does the web have the Redskins ranked following Week 10? The majority have them solidly in the top 11 with a few slightly higher.

With all the attention on the Cowboys in the NFC East, and rightfully so, Washington has quietly played very well. They’re 5-1-1 after a slow start, and would be 7-0 had they stopped the Lions’ last-minute drive and their kicker hadn’t missed a chip-shot field goal in overtime against the Bengals.
I listed the Redskins as underrated last week, but I guess I can't do that anymore. They looked great in their victory over an underrated Minnesota squad, and they are now favored by just about a field goal against the Packers. Plus, Kirk Cousins now has a new catchphrase in "Oooooweeeee." It's been proven by mathematicians that Cousins' play increases exponentially once he introduces a new catchphrase to help motivate the team.
Huge, huge, huge win for the Redskins on Sunday. So often we see teams come out of the bye week flat. And although it might have looked that way early at FedEx, this football team that no one's paying attention to won with efficient quarterback play (Kirk Cousins: 22 of 33, 262 yards and two TD) and clutch defense in the end. Heckuva win. In other news, where are all those fans who angrily tweeted me in August claiming Matt Jones would be awesome in 2016? #healthyscratch
Jay Gruden should fit right in with the new conservative regime in Washington. But you can't argue with results. The Redskins offense kept grinding in the run game, hit two big pass plays and avoided the turnover that Kirk Cousins usually throws. Minnesota only sacked Cousins once, too.

If you hadn't noticed, Kirk Cousins has played past two months like a guy who will deservedly command $100-plus million pact in a few months.

Is there a more under-the-radar team right now than the Redskins? On one hand, they have only a plus-3 point differential, but on the other hand, they're 4-0 against teams that entered their game with a winning record. Washington hosts the 4-5 Packers on Sunday night.
Kirk Cousins is playing good football. That's got them in the middle of the playoff race with Green Bay coming to town.

The Redskins continued their nagging habit of letting an opponent back into the game but did what was necessary against the Vikings. It was a nice bounce-back after the disappointing tie in London against the Bengals and a bye week. Now they must take advantage of playing the reeling Packers at the right time when they meet this coming Sunday night at FedEx Field.
