Two players are questionable: linebacker Trent Murphy (elbow/shoulder) and end Kendall Reyes (groin). Reyes has missed the past two games. There does not appear to be real concern that Murphy will miss the game. He leads the Redskins with three sacks.
Kouandjio, a fourth-round pick in 2015, competed with Long and Shawn Lauvao for the starting left guard spot in camp. Both, though, were ahead of him throughout camp. However, the Redskins like Kouandjio's size -- he's 325 pounds. The Redskins had to use tackle Trent Williams at left guard for the second half of the win over the New York Giants as Kouandjio was inactive. But he's looked good enough in practice this week to start.
But there have been times, in the first two games especially, where I wondered why he hesitated on a look -- the missed throw to Jordan Reed in the end zone vs. Pittsburgh, for example. The play was there; he had a linebacker one-on-one with the entire end zone with which to work. But he was late and needed a perfect throw -- which he didn’t make.
Through three games, Crowell has 45 carries for 274 yards, good for an average of more than 6 yards-per-carry and second in the NFL in rush yards. He's shown both power and speed, including an 85-yard touchdown run against the Ravens in Week 2.
