Three players will make their regular season debuts for the Washington Redskins today. TE Anthony McCoy was signed less than two weeks ago, and will be the team's third TE today. He was inactive last week, but will be on the field due to the team's thin depth at the position, and a mid-week injury to starter Jordan Reed, ILB Terrance Plummer was signed from the team's practice squad yesterday due to the concussion that will keep backup Martrell Spaight sidelined. Plummer was impressive during the preseason, and will look to make plays for the team today on special teams. CB Will Blackmon was signed this week due to Chris Cuiliver's suspension, Justin Roger's injury, and David Amerson's poor play. He is expected to be thrown into the mix right away.
Fourth round rookie guard Arie Kouandjio is inactive for the 2nd week in a row, and is waiting for his opportunity. Tom Compton, the team's backup OT and sometimes TE is inactive for the 2nd week in a row after being kicked in the calf during preseason.
The only notable name on the Rams inactives list is rookie 1st round pick Todd Gurley. The talented RB will wait another week to make his debut, after recovering from a knee injury that ended his college career.
