OLB Trevardo Williams has been battling injury (hamstring) for a while now. Yesterday, the team decided they couldn't wait any longer and waived him with an injury designation. He appeared in three games with the 'Skins last season and recorded a sack. If he clears waivers, Williams could end up on the Redskins IR list.
Must Reads
Taking the vacant spot on the roster created by Williams' departure, the Redskins signed former JMU Duke Sage Harold (6'4", 245 lbs.). After going undrafted, Harold signed with the Chiefs back in May as an UDFA and was just released by the team this past Sunday. Harold is a native of VA Beach and recorded a JMU record 13.5 sacks last year. He was an All-CAA First-Teamer. Harold will now be competing with Ryan Kerrigan, Junior Galette, Preston Smith, Trent Murphy, Jackson Jeffcoat, Houston Bates, and Dyshawn Davis for probably 4-5 OLB spots on the final 53. He's also eligible for the PS.
