Washington Redskins Player Profiles: Jamison Crowder

There are big questions about Jamison Crowder, and not necessarily due to his on-field performance.

Position: Wide Receiver

Height: 5'9", Weight: 185 lbs

College: Duke

Drafted: 4th Round, Pick 105 overall

Jamison Crowder has been in the news a lot recently. He has been accused of domestic violence by a girlfriend. At the time of this writing, everything is alleged. So while he's still on the roster and innocent until proven guilty, let's get to know Jamison Crowder.

#1. Jamison attended Monroe High School in Monroe, North Carolina. While in high school, he participated in track & field and basketball. In 2010, his junior year, the team went 32-1 and won the 1A state basketball championship. Crowder was named Rocky River Conference Player of the Year.

#2. In Crowder's final college game, the 2014 Sun Bowl against Arizona State, he tied the ACC's record for all-time receptions with 283 of them.

#3. Jamison holds the Duke record for punts returned for a touchdown with four.

#4. In 2012, Crowder was involved in a jet ski accident that almost killed fellow Duke receiver Blair Holliday. Jamison was uninjured in the accident, but Holliday suffered a traumatic brain injury. After the two jet skis collided, Crowder saw Holliday floating face down in the water. He helped bring Blair to shore where a nursing student who witnessed the accident had to perform CPR to revive him.

#5. Crowder caught the touchdown pass against North Carolina that ended a 17 year bowl drought for Duke University.

Bottom Line: Jamison Crowder's NFL future may be in doubt. He has the skill to make the roster. But at this point it's not up to the coaches. He can't juke his way past the domestic violence charge. But even in the NFL, we must consider him innocent until proven guilty. That's how this country rolls.
