Ryan Kerrigan and the Redskins Continue to Talk Contract Extension

"We're in talks," he said. "It's between my agent and the team. I get little updates here and there. From what I understand, they've been good talks so far and hopefully I can be in Washington for a long time."

If not, Kerrigan becomes a prized free agent. He had 13.5 sacks last season, bringing his four-year total to 38 in 64 games. He led the league in forced fumbles in 2014. Kerrigan was a dominant player, but it didn't earn him a spot in the Pro Bowl.

"In the end, it's not a huge deal but you keep it in the back of your mind this time of year when you're working out and training and you need to find a little motivation," Kerrigan said.
