Scot McCloughan has made his second selection as the Washington Redskins GM, and that pick is Preston Smith, a versatile pass rusher from Mississippi State.
The Redskins got great value here, adding a player with arguably first round talent who also fills a big need in Washington. Smith will join last years second round pick Trent Murphy and Ryan Kerrigan as a solid trio of players who can get after the quarterback.
Smith's versatility will allow Redskins new defensive coordinator Joe Barry to get creative with where he lines up and how he uses the talented Mississippi product.
McCloughan has kept with his theme of adding big, nasty players to the Redskins roster, making two very solid first round selections in Brandon Scherff and Preston Smith
