Damarious Randall
Free Safety
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 196 lbs.
Arizona State
Strengths: Plays fast and quick with great footwork. Aggressive with a non-stop motor. Seems to be no give up in him. Processes action quickly. High football IQ and takes great angles. Solid anticipation with excellent ability to read the QB.
Strong awareness with plus returning skills once he gets his mitts on a ball. Like contact and goes for hits with a full head of steam. Violent. Known as a great practice player who trains right.
Solid ST's player. Played on coverages and also as a return man.
Weaknesses: Could be a little bigger and stronger. Has no problem committing to a hit or tackle, but would be aided by some added bulk. Plays a little too aggressive at times. Gets fooled by fakes sometimes.
Needs to work on patience. Too anxious. Needs some coaching to work on his technique. Too many penalties as a result of over-aggression. Was bruised and battered too often in college and his style of play combined with his smaller than ideal size could lead to some injury problems down the road.
Bottom Line: CB size with FS skills. Very fast and physical. Plays with no fear. Inconsistent near the LoS.
Needs work on discipline and technique, but has ball skills and confidence in spades. Whether he sees the field on defense immediately or not, should be a ST's contributor right away.
Projected Round: 2
Team He Fits Best On: Vikings, Bengals, Cowboys, Colts
