Hau'oli Kikaha
Outside Linebacker/Defensive End
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 253 lbs.
Washington
Strengths: Crazy explosive and fast. Gets low and around the edge of OT's with ease. Very flexible with great body control and balance. Plays with great leverage. Never stops moving. Incredibly good at changing directions and can cover. Loose hips. Plays violent and aggressive. Never stops pursuing the ball. Sound mentally and one of the most competitive guys in this draft. 100% effort all the time. "Pesky" and "fiery." Non-stop motor. No quit. Versatile with the ability to play with his hand in the dirt or standing up. Has played both DE spots in a 4-3 as well as OLB in a 3-4. Good ST's player on coverages. Has Washington's school record for sacks (36).
Weaknesses: Needs to get stronger. Too easily rerouted by blockers. Doesn't work well in tight, closed areas. Not overly long. Lacks power. Too light and easily moved. Tackling technique needs some work. Not consistent. Not natural in coverage. Durability is an issue. Has torn the ACL in his left knee twice (September 2011 and August 2012).
Bottom Line: Natural pass rusher with an unbelievable motor who never quits. All-time sack leader at Washington who displays loads of talent. Wins on the edge with great speed and non-stop effort. Intense hustle and competitive drive. Still, lacks strength (especially in the run game) and not a powerful pass rusher. Excellent in space. Used to rushing the QB every single play and will need time to work on his ability against the run and in coverage. Best suited as an OLB in a 3-4.
