Washington Redskins Draft Profiles: Cody Prewitt, FS

Hogs Haven takes a look at NFL prospects heading into the 2015 draft.

Cody Prewitt

Free Safety

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 208 lbs.

Ole Miss

Strengths: Well-built man with an excellent frame for the FS position.  Long limbs.  Pretty quick athlete with good acceleration.  Excellent vision with superior ability to read plays.  Good instincts.

Great tackler in space.  Sound with good technique.  Impeccable timing and plays physical.  Has forced five career fumbles.  Hits hard.  12 career INT's.  Leader who plays with a lot of emotion.  41 career starts.

Weaknesses: Too aggressive sometimes and a touch too slow.  Sometimes gets too excited and makes mistakes.  Needs to work on his ability to calm down and focus.  Must improve patience.  Not the best recovery skills (worsened by lack of speed).

Needs to improve reflexes/reaction time.  Not great at the LoS.  Inexperienced blitzing and/or playing in the box.

Bottom Line: Pure center-fielder who plays with great anticipation and has a knack for diagnosing routes.  Played primarily as a single-high FS against very good competition (SEC).  However, he's a liability near the LoS.

Projected Round: 2-3

Team He Fits Best On: Raiders, Rams, Giants, Seahawks
