Gerod Holliman
Free Safety
Height: 6' 0", Weight: 218 lbs
Louisville
Strengths: Gerod finished the 2014 season by tying a 46-year old NCAA record with 14 interceptions (Al Worley, Washington, 1968). He also won the Thorpe Award for the NCAA's best defensive back. He likes to hit hard. He can mirror receivers well, has fluid hips, good hand-eye coordination, and a smooth backpedal. He has soft hands as evidenced by his 14 interceptions. His 40 yard dash at the Combine was 4.65 seconds and registered a 27 inch vertical jump.
Weaknesses: Holliman is only a one year starter. He lacks discipline. He is not consistent in taking good angles to make tackles. His technique is also inconsistent. He prefers hitting to tackling. Holliman fails to wrap up his tackles on a regular basis. He does not always play with maximum effort.
Bottom Line: Gerod Holliman has tremendous skill. However his lack of discipline and technique could sabotage his draft stock. Coaching can help but will it be enough?
Projected Round: 4-5
Team He Fits Best On: Redskins, Bears, Falcons, Steelers, Colts
