The Redskins are reportedly working on setting up a "deal" with their first free agent during the 3 day "legal" tampering period before free agency officially opens tomorrow. It was reported on Saturday by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that the Redskins were very interested in Chicago Bears DT Stephen Paea. Today, CSN Chicago's Jen Lada is reporting that the Redskins are "closing in" on a 4 year deal with Paea(6'1", 300 lbs, 26 years old). Paea is coming off his best year as a pro, and was credited with 33 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 passes defended and 2 forced fumbles. Pro Football Focus also credits him with 47 pressures which was third most for DT/NT's last year.

#Redskins were interested in #Bears DL Stephen Paea from the beginning. He’s told people that’ll be his destination. They beefed up that DL
