Jaelen Strong
Wide Receiver
Height: 6' 2", Weight: 217 lbs
Arizona State
Strengths: Jaelen played basketball in high school. His build helped him there as well as at wide receiver for the Sun Devils. He is 6' 2" tall, weighs 217 lbs and has 32 ½ inch arms. Strong can make adjustments to his routes in space and tracks the ball well. He ran a 4.4 second 40 and had a 42 inch vertical leap at the Combine. He'll be aggressive to the ball no matter where it's thrown. Jaelen is smooth and has good body control. He is also willing to fight for yards after the catch. According to the coaching staff at Arizona State, his work ethic is second to none.
Weaknesses: Strong does not have a second gear when heading downfield. He doesn't get consistent separation from defenders. He has a habit of tipping defenders to his route. He also needs to sharpen up his route running. Jaelen's durability has also been a concern. He works hard but wears himself out and will take plays off. He does not instill fear in the secondary.
Bottom Line: Jaelen Strong has a lot of upside. He isn't a plug and play receiver. He definitely needs some coaching. But he's a good-sized, physical receiver with great work ethic.
Projected Round: 1
Team He Fits Best On: Ravens, Chiefs, Browns, Texans
