D.J. Humphries
Offensive Tackle
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 307 lbs.
Florida
Strengths: Extremely athletic. Moves and looks a little bit like a TE. Has a great frame with broad shoulders. Many believe that his frame could support an additional 10-15 lbs. without slowing him down. Very quick off the snap and great agility in pass protection. Solid technique (not a waist-bender). Impressive movement skills to stay with faster rushers and yet also good anchoring against the bull rush. Strong upper body and great in the run game getting out to the second level with his speed.
Weaknesses: Durability and inconsistency are Humphries' biggest weaknesses. Seems almost lazy at times and then too aggressive at others. Needs to improve his strength. Missed seven games over the past two seasons with leg injuries.
Bottom Line: Undeniable talent with durability issues. Two injury-shortened seasons in a row raises a flag. He also lacks some experience having only started 19 games in college. Didn't allow a sack through all of HS or the three games he started his freshman year at Florida. Was a highly touted recruit out of HS. Super athletic. Still, has knee (MCL) issues after having sprained them in both knees. The next year, it was a high ankle sprain. Has the necessary agility to be successful in the NFL, though.
Projected Round: 2
Team He Fits Best On: Buccaneers, Browns, Bengals, Lions, Panthers, Broncos
