Washington Redskins Draft Profiles: Eli Harold, OLB/DE

Hogs Haven takes a look at NFL prospects heading into the 2015 draft.

Eli Harold

Outside Linebacker/Defensive End

Height: 6'3"

Weight: 247 lbs.

Virginia

Strengths: Very quick with great burst out of his stance and excellent acceleration.  Top-notch "launch" out of a three-point stance.  Agile, athletic, and fast.  Excellent attitude and motor.  Goes 100% all the time and never gives up on a play.  Has had a very good, productive collegiate career (24 starts).  Very good pass rusher.

Weaknesses: Lanky and lean.  Needs to work on developing strength all over his frame.  Wouldn't be described as powerful.  Not so great against the run.  Not reliable setting and holding the edge.  Sometimes wears himself out with too much movement.  Needs to become more efficient.  Has a problem with getting too far up-field and occasionally taking himself out of plays.  Lacks consistency and has very limited experience dropping into coverage.

Bottom Line: Natural athlete with good length.  Raw.  Needs coaching.  Intriguing, and in my opinion, he has great potential to be very good... or to bust completely.  Risky prospect.

During his time at UVA, Harold amassed 36.5 TFL and 17.5 sacks.  He was a reserve during his freshman year and then started his sophomore and junior seasons.  He's a very active player with good movement skills.

Projected Round: 1-2

Team He Fits Best On: Cardinals, Cowboys, Saints
