Bashaud Breeland was a 4th round pick last season that defensive coaches like DBs coach Raheem Morris were adamant about drafting last season.  The general consensus was that he left college too early and he would have went much higher in the draft in 2015 after another year of experience at Clemson.  Breeland got his opportunities to play early thanks to injuries to Tracy Porter who was signed to be the Redskins slot cornerback last year.  Then starting CB DeAngelo Hall was lost for the season in Week 3 after tearing his Achilles vs the Philadelphia Eagles and Breeland became the starting CB alongside 2nd year corner David Amerson.

USA Today lists the top payment for every team, and credits Breeland with 66% playing time, but Breeland played 863 defensive snaps(83.5%) and 132 special teams snaps(28.4%).  Each team has a performance-based pool of $3.633 million to give to the players that make the least amount of money and play the most.  Last year's top PBP earner was RT Tyler Polumbus, who earned an additional $190.601 for his playing time and low pay. Alfred Morris earned the third most with $167,854.  The full list of Redskins players has not been released to the public yet, but will be added once it is made available. The NFL has provided the list of the Top 25 PBP earners in the NFL, and Breeland made the 23rd most in the league.  They also provide a detailed explanation of how the bonuses are determined.
