Hogs Haven Draft Profiles: T.J. Clemmings, OT

Hogs Haven takes a look at NFL prospects heading into the 2015 draft

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

T.J. Clemmings

Offensive Tackle

Height: 6' 5", Weight: 309 lbs

Pittsburgh

Strengths: T.J. has a lot of the tangibles needed in an offensive tackle. He is quick, moves fluidly, is a good athlete, and has long arms (34 7/8"). At 6'5", 309 lbs, he has the size for the position. T.J. has a wide stance that keeps him stable (and would be a hit in Senate bathrooms). His footwork is good. He has a great kick-slide to match opponents on the edge. He hasn't been on the offensive line for his entire career, so his impressive skill there is a combination of talent and the ability to learn quickly. He earned a spot in the Senior Bowl in only his second season on the offensive line.

Weaknesses: Clemmings will need to work on his pass blocking. His hand placement tends to be off somewhat. He also drops his head and his shoulders once contact has been made. He has a little trouble countering moves back inside, possible due to being a little stiff in the hips. He started as a defensive end at Pitt, before moving to the other side of the ball during the 2013 season.

Bottom Line: T.J. Clemmings has great natural talent and the ability to learn quickly. His few deficiencies can be improved with coaching. He is raw but he'll be a great addition to any roster.

Projected Round: 1-2

Team He Fits Best On: Buccaneers, Browns, Redskins, Packers
