2015 NFL Combine Results: Running Back Measurements

Running back is one of the deepest positions in this year's draft, will the Redskins look to the draft if Roy Helu, Jr. leaves in free agency?

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Redskins offense will continue to shift to fit what Head Coach Jay Gruden wants, and GM Scot McCloughan will bring in players that fit his offensive philosophy.  Alfred Morris is entering the final year of his rookie deal, and is the clear #1 RB on the roster entering the season.  Roy Helu, Jr. has indicated that he will test free agency, but a return to Washington is not off the table. The Redskins also have Silas Redd, Jr., an undrafted free agent last season who made the roster over incumbent Evan Royster.  Chris Thompson made the roster later in the year after spending some time on the practice squad, but he hasn't shown enough to be relied on, even with some of the desirable traits he brings to the team.

New Redskins GM Scot McCloughan's favorite draft pick was Frank Gore in San Francisco.  Gore had several ACL injuries during his college career and McCloughan even told him in they "reached" for him in the 3rd round.  If Todd Gurley falls to the 2nd or 3rd round due to his season ending ACL injury, will McCloughan attempt to get another draft steal? Or will they wait until later, and take advantage of the depth in the draft while adding talent elsewhere?

Here is a full list of the RBs that were weighed and measured at the Combine, and you can see the full list of Combine measurements here. The table is sortable, just click the headers in each column.
