With Chris Thompson nursing a shoulder issue, and with defensive lineman Stephen Paea being sent to injured reserve, the Redskins chose to add Pierre Thomas. The 30-year old runner, in his 9th season in the league, is most known for his exploits in New Orleans from 2007-2014, but he also accumulated a few stats with San Francisco this season.

It still appears that Alfred Morris and Matt Jones will carry the load against the Chicago Bears this weekend, but the veteran presence of Thomas could prove useful if the team is pressed to use a third running back at all this week.
