The Tom Brady F#&*s the NFL Tour continues in Week 9 when the Washington Redskins travel north to Foxborough to take on the Patriots. The Redskins defense has been struggling, and continues to deal with injuries, especially in the secondary. Their top 3 cornerbacks are listed as questionable, and could miss tomorrow's game. Chris Culliver looked like the most likely to return, but had soreness in his knee that kept him off the practice field and in the pool for rehab. DeAngelo continues to say he is close to returning from a Week 3 toe injury, but has not looked comfortable in practice. Bashaud Breeland did individual drills at yesterday's practice, but his hamstring injury could cause him to sit. The Redskins will likely play at least one of the three along with Will Blackmon, and a combination of young, inexperienced players at the remaining positions. Tom Brady has been smiling for the past 10 days.
The Redskins are well rested after their bye week, and are coming off of the greatest comeback in team history two weeks ago. Kirk Cousins earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his part in leading the team from a 24 point, 2nd quarter deficit to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cousins will need to play a perfect game to keep the score close and have a chance against the reigning Super Bowl champions. The Patriots defense has been playing well, and has playmakers on the line, and in the secondary. The Redskins should have DeSean Jackson back this week along with Pierre Garcon, Jordan Reed, and Jamison Crowder to test the Patriots secondary. Washington's run game will need to show up this week, and the young offensive line simply needs to improve their run blocking to keep the playbook open.
