Washington Redskins vs New England Patriots Injury Reports

The Washington Redskins have no players ruled out for the the first time all year!

Are the Washington Redskins getting healthy at the right time, or are they optimistic about a few players who will be gametime decisions? Several Redskins starters are expected to return to the field this week including WR DeSean Jackson(hamstring).  Jackson has been out since Week 1, and the Redskins offense has definitely missed his big-play ability.  Ryan Kerrigan did not miss any games due to his broken hand suffered against the Buccaneers two weeks ago. HBK had successful surgery last week, and will wear a cast if he is on the field.

Several starters are listed as questionable, but the odds of them being on the field Sunday seem slightly lower due to several factors. CB DeAngelo Hall has been out since Week 3 with a toe injury, and it was recently reported that he actually has a grade 2 plantar plate rupture in his foot. This is a similar injury to the one WR Pierre Garcon had in 2012 and was able to play through after resting his foot.  Hall reportedly still looked bothered by the injury and his movements were limited in practice this week. He is hopeful to return, but that is far from guaranteed this week.

CB Chris Culliver was looking like a good bet to play vs the Patriots, but he had a minor setback at today's practice that kept him off the field and in the pool.  Knee soreness has been an issue for Culliver over the last few weeks, and while he was telling reporters in the middle of the week that he was ready to play, could keep him out another week. He mentioned today that he had his knee drained a few weeks ago.

Bashaud Breeland has been getting the opportunity to start at outside CB this year due to the injuries to Hall and Culliver, but was also injured in the last game making a TD saving tackle.  Breeland was limited in practice yesterday, and didn't practice on Wednesday due to the hamstring.  The Redskins will need to be cautious with Breeland, but could face tough decisions if their top 3 CBs are out this week vs Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Center Kory Lichtensteiger appears to be getting closer to a return to the field from a neck/shoulder injury that has caused him to miss the last two games.  He has not been practicing, but was on the field today.  Head Coach Jay Gruden did not sound optimistic about his return in today's presser, calling him a gametime decision.  Josh LeRibeus, who also shows up on this week's report with a shoulder injury, looks like he will be getting his 3rd straight start for the Redskins.

The Redskins two starting inside linebackers also appear on this week's report, with Keenan Robinson being the bigger concern going into Sunday.  Robinson sat out yesterday's practice due to rotator cuff soreness, and gets this week's Jordan Reed Multi! award for being listed with 3 injuries(Rib/Abdomen/Shoulder). Perry Riley, Jr. is listed as probable with a lower leg injury, and has been a full participant in practice all week.

Jason Hatcher continues his tradition of resting during the week due to "wear and tear" to his knee.  Hatcher was placed on IR last year due to a knee issue that required surgery before the 2014 season started. He has started to see less snaps during games, after consistently playing 70%+ early in the year.
