HH's Hump Day NFL Pick'em - Week 11

Guess what day it is??? Mike Harar is back with Year 3 of his weekly pick'em contest - with new and improved prizes brought to you by NRG!!

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome everyone to Week 11 of the 2015 Hump Day NFL Pick'em!

We are back and excited to continue to work with the good folks at NRG, who provided the excellent prizes last year and will continue to do so this season!

NRG

As down as we were following the Redskins-Patriots disaster, we were inversely as excited after the Redskins-Saints triumph.  We can't remember the last time a game was so thoroughly enjoyed and in such a relaxed setting.  After the tremendous effort our Redskins put up, they are now 4-5 and sitting pretty in the NFC East.  Our picks were inversely as good as the Redskins performance, as we went 4-6 and continued to mire in ineptitude.

In regards to our to our Week 10 prize, the randomly selected contestants were heaternet (for a second consecutive week!) and XenoSkins87.  After going head to head with their picks, the winner was:

We had a tie! Both heaternet and XenoSkins87 finished with a 6-4 record!  After drawing a name from my favorite Redskins hat, the winner was heaternet!!!  Congrats to him, and we hope he enjoys his Kirk Cousins jersey!

Now we move on to Week 11.

As many of you have noticed, we have moved our radio show The District to Tuesday nights.  Please be sure to check out that fine radio program live on WBAD from 7pm - 8pm EST and afterwards as a podcast on ESPN980.com and right here on Hogs Haven.  Due to the changes to the The District's schedule, we have had some rule changes to our contest.  Please read below:

This is a weekly contest in which I will make ten game picks each Wednesday and invite you, the loyal Hogs Haven readers, to make your own picks in the comments section.

I will still make my picks each week based on the early lines set in Las Vegas, but instead of picking a winner for every game, I will choose ten games that I feel are the most significant.  The games chosen will always include the nationally televised games, the Redskins games (of course), and then whatever other games I find interesting.   This change is not purely due to my laziness, but laziness did play a large role.

I am not capping the amount of entrants this year, so everyone who comments with their picks after the post goes up (using the games I chose), and enters Rafflecopter will have a chance.

******Note: Going forward, please use your Hogs Haven handle as your first name to make it easier to locate your picks in the comments section.******

Two contestants will be chosen using Rafflecopter.  I will them email them following their selection.

As I mentioned above, I will incorporate the spread as determined by Las Vegas the Tuesday before the games and you can earn 1 point for each correct choice. The contestant with the best score will be the winner.  Ties will be decided, as usual, by our lovely assistant, who will draw a name out of my favorite, dirty, Redskins hat.

The winner will be announced on the next week's episode of the District, as well as on that week's Hump Day Pick'em, and earn a fabulous prize, courtesy of NRG, that will then be mailed to them.  Each week the prize will change, and every week a prize will be given out.

And since this question has come up a lot, I will also point out there is NO limit to the amount of times you can win!

Simple right?!?!

Here are my 10 picks for this week:

Tennessee Titans (+3) at Jacksonville Jaguars: This is one of those weeks where I'll watch the Thursday night game, but I'll be strongly tempted to see what's going on with the Nat Geo channel or what crazy antics the guys on Pawn Stars are up to.  Pick: Jaguars (-3)

Washington Redskins (+7) at Carolina Panthers: The Panthers are really good at running the ball and are undefeated this season.  The Redskins are really bad at stopping the run and haven't won on the road yet this year.  Unless the Skintangibles are off the charts in this game, the Redskins are in trouble.  Pick: Panthers (-7)

Dallas Cowboys (PK) at Miami Dolphins: Tony Romo is finally back.  Is it possible that Cowboy fans will come out of their dark caves of solitude to participate in social media barking sessions if their team wins?  (I think so, and I'm looking forward to a lot of "If only...." tweets.)  Pick: Cowboys (PK)

Green Bay Packers (+1) at Minnesota Vikings: At the beginning of the year, did anyone predict these upstart Vikings would be sitting at 7-2 and Adrian Peterson would be leading the league in rushing?   I actually did, but I only wrote it down in my personal private journal that no one gets to see.  Pick: Packers (+1)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+5.5) at Philadelphia Eagles: If Sam Bradford can't play in this game (shoulder, concussion), Mark Sanchez will get the start for the Eagles.  In other news, bet everything you have on the Buccaneers.  (Editor's Note: The Hump Day Pick'em in no way condones betting except in states where betting has been deemed legal, or in the event the bet is just between you and your friend/associate and goods and services are at stake instead of monetary prizes.)  Pick: Buccaneers (+5.5)

Denver Broncos (+1) at Chicago Bears: Has there ever been a fan base more excited about a quarterback change than Broncos fans must be right now?  Maybe the Cowboys fans when Weeden first took over earlier in the year. Pick: Broncos (+1)

Cincinnati Bengals (+5) at Arizona Cardinals: The Bengals finally suffered their first loss of the year last week to the Texans.  Now, the Red Ryder BB Gun leads his team into Arizona, hoping to knock some Cardinals out of the sky (***Line of The Week***).  Pick: Cardinals (-5)

San Francisco 49ers (+12.5) at Seattle Seahawks: Blaine Gabbert led the 49ers to a victory in Week 9 and will remain the starter in Week 11.  I hope the Seahawks realize they're about to run into a buzz saw.  A Blaine Gabbert-sized buzz saw.  Pick: 49ers (+12.5)

Kansas City Chiefs (-3) at San Diego Chargers: When these two meet, you just throw out the record.  Not for any particular reason, but go ahead and just throw it out.  Pick: Chargers (+3)

Buffalo Bills (+7) at New England Patriots: Tyrod Taylor is back and playing great ball and the Bills are looking strong.  The Patriots are just going to keep being the Patriots, and we're all just kind of killing time until they win Super Bowl 50.  Pick: Patriots (-7)

So there are my Week 11 picks. The winner this week will have this fabulous prize to look forward to, courtesy of NRG:

A Pierre Garcon signed mini-helmet!!!!!

That's right - a mini-helmet signed by #88 himself!

I will email this week's two contestants, as chosen by Rafflecopter, tomorrow night, and the winner will be announced next Wednesday on the next Hump Day post.

Good luck!!!!
