The Redskins went into Foxborough last week as one of the biggest underdogs of the season, and they fell flat in their attempt to be the first team to beat the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots this year. Washington is now 3-5 and still only 1.5 games behind the New York Giants for the NFC East division lead. The Redskins also have the easiest remaining schedule in the NFCE. But they have to start winning if they want to even remain in the conversation and make it a 3-way race for 1st(sorry Dallas, you done).
The Saints come to town following a loss to the Tennessee Titans, and an amazing shootout with the New York Giants the week before. The Redskins have been historically bad against the run the for the past month, but this game could be a shootout if Kirk Cousins and the Washington offense can match Drew Brees in the air. DeSean Jackson is back at full speed, and the Redskins have plenty of weapons to use, but the offensive line continues to be inconsistent and had it's 2nd starter placed on IR this week(Kory Lichtensteiger). The Saints defense is one of the worst in the league against the pass(and in general), so there will be plenty of opportunities for the offense to move the ball this week.
