The Redskins will be short handed once again this week when they play the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. WR DeSean Jackson was hopeful that he would be able to return to the field this week for the first time since injuring his hamstring in Week 1. He was able to practice on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday, but was held out today and then ruled out of the game. Ryan Grant will get the start in his place again, with Jamison Crowder likely continuing as the team's slot WR going forward. TE Jordan Reed was also ruled out for Sunday, and is still in the NFL's concussion protocol while also dealing with ankle and knee injuries suffered last week. The Redskins offense will need to look elsewhere for playmakers. Does Andre Roberts see the field again this week?
The Redskins secondary is still dealing with injuries, and will once again have to shuffle the deck at cornerback. DeAngelo Hall remains out after tearing a ligament in his big toe on Sept. 24th. Chris Culliver did not practice all week with a knee injury that he was able to play through last week. He had an MRI on his left knee, the same one that had a torn ACL in 2013, and no structural damage was found. Jay Gruden said he is dealing with "cartilage issues". This will make the starting cornerbacks Bashaud Breeland and Will Blackmon, with Kyshoen Jarrett likely to get the start again at slot cornerback. Jarrett surprised surprisingly well last week for a 5th round safety who has been worked at CB since training camp due to Breeland's injury.
Perry Riley, Jr. is optimistic about his return to the field this week, and said it was "50/50" last week, but the team decided to shut him down for one more week to ensure his full recovery. He was limited in practice all week, and is listed as questionable this week. If Riley can't go again this week, Will Compton will continue as the starter.

The Falcons are relatively healthy coming into Sunday's game with only 1 starter ruled out, LB Justin Durant. The big name on the list is obviously Leonard Hankerson Julio Jones who is listed as questionable with toe and hamstring injuries that limited him all week in practice. Jones is expected to play, and will look to continue the huge start to his season against a depleted Redskins secondary. RB Tevin Coleman should return to a Falcons backfield that has seen Devonta Freeman blow up in Kyle Shanahan's system. The Redskins #2 rushing defense will definitely be tested this week.
