The Redskins enter this Week 6 road game battered and bruised, and already missing 7 starters. On offense LT Trent Williams, Center Kory Lichtensteiger, TE Jordan Reed, and WR DeSean Jackson have all been ruled out already, and RB Matt Jones will also reportedly join them on the inactive list today. On defense, the Redskins top two CBs, Chris Culliver and DeAngelo Hall will miss another game this week.
The Redskins currently sit in a three-way tie for second place in the NFC East at 2-3 with the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. The New York Giants have a slim advantage with their 3-2 record, but play the Eagles tomorrow night on Monday Night Football. Eagles and Redskins wins would result in another 3-way tie, leaving the Cowboys in 1st place due to their bye this week. The only thing the Redskins need to be concerned with this week is defeating the New York Jets, beating the Buccaneers at home next week, and then getting healthier over the Week 8 bye.
The Jets defense is going to look to take advantage of an extremely young Redskins offensive line. Ty Nsekhe is expected to make his first NFL start at LT after floating around the Arena Football league and NFL for a few years. 4th-year OG Josh LeRibeus is expected to make his 2nd NFL start, and his first at the center position today. Second-year guard Spencer Long will be making his 3rd NFL start this week. And RT Morgan Moses and RG Brandon Scherff will be making their 6th NFL starts this week, with Moses have only one other start last year. The entire Redskins starting offensive line has started 14 games total before this week. Good luck today Kirk, hopefully everyone's faith in offensive line coach Bill Callahan pays off.
