Report: Falcons Concerned With Julio Jones Hamstring

Jones will test out his hamstring before the game.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported early this morning that Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones' hamstring issues that limited him in practice this week are still a concern heading into today's game with the Redskins. Jones is officially listed as questionable on this week's injury report with toe and hamstring injuries.  The Redskins are dealing with their own issues in the receiving group with DeSean Jackson(hamstring) and Jordan Reed(concussion/knee/ankle) out. But they are also missing their #1 and # 2 CBs this week with Chris Culliver(knee) and DeAngelo Hall(toe) both unable to play.

Jones is expected to play today, but his effectiveness and time could be limited if his hamstring continues to bother him at gametime.  The Falcons have plenty of other targets to throw to if Jones isn't playing 100%, including former Redskins WRs Leonard Hankerson and Nick Williams.  Former Redskins OC Kyle Shanahan has had the Falcons offense playing at a high level behind the arm of Matt Ryan, Jones record-breaking start to the season, and an impressive running game.

More details will be added when they become available.

And from Jay Glazer:

Julio Jones felt hamstring tighten late this week. Yesterday he ran without any issues but didn't open it up fully. Gonna open it up pregame to make sure he can go fully in game
