The Washington Redskins have a new GM and it's almost finalized. Scot McCloughan has reportedly agreed to become the new GM with Bruce Allen staying Team President. The deal will be for 4 years. I'm traveling right now and luckily not driving or I might have ended up on the side of the road in a snowy heap.
As @RealMikeRob says, McCloughan to Redskins is happening. Expect a press conference Friday or Saturday. He'll be GM, Bruce Allen president— Michael Silver (@MikeSilver) January 6, 2015
I'm told Mark Davis reached out to McCloughan 1 last time last night. Offered him 'president of personnel' under McKenzie. Conversation over— Michael Silver (@MikeSilver) January 6, 2015

Worth mentioning ... Scot McCloughan had a great relationship with Jon Gruden, they worked together in Green Bay. Now, he'll work with Jay.— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) January 6, 2015
It will be a 4-year deal for Scot McCloughan and the #Redskins, I’m told. Goes without saying, it’s a huge hire from a personnel standpoint.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 6, 2015
A lot of people forget Scot McCloughan was director of college scouting for Seahawks 2000-2004, helped build team that got to SBXL in '05— Danny Kelly (@FieldGulls) January 6, 2015
McCloughan will have full power over the #Redskins personnel department, per source. That includes adding/subtracting the actual evaluators.— Emmanual Benton (@Manny_PPI) January 6, 2015
If they haven't already, #Redskins have to satisfy the Rooney Rule and interview a minority GM candidate before hiring McCloughan.— Mike Jones (@MikeJonesWaPo) January 6, 2015
Commence the gif party!
