The Redskins Blog | Players Mourn Passing Of Stuart Scott
In wake of his untimely passing, Redskins players took to social media to express their shock, grief and gratitude for Scott, sharing their condolences and memories.
NFL Network’s LaVar Arrington: The Redskins ‘Stole My Career’ « CBS DC
Arrington, 36, a former three-time All-Pro who was drafted 2nd overall in 2000 by the Redskins, for whom he played six seasons prior to playing his final NFL season for the Giants, fired off a series of emotionally charged tweets hours removed from the Redskins President and General Manager’s presser. Arrington blamed the organization, at least in part, and the seemingly endless dysfunction surrounding it, for derailing his once promising NFL career.
Tight-Knit Community Helps Team's Fringe Players
Running back Chris Thompson called it the “the hood” — the island of gray metal lockers that sits in the middle of the Redskins’ locker room. The name is a joke, but nobody mocks the rotating cast of practice squad players that uses this dressing space. If anything, those on the active roster, whose lockers line the room’s perimeter, respect and sympathize with them and their perpetually uncertain situations.
Season Highlights: Ryan Kerrigan Sack Compilation
Watch every one of Redskins Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan's 13.5 sacks during the 2014 season, including a stretch where he tied a Redskins record by recording a sack in five consecutive games.
Grading Out the Redskins
The Redskins season came to a humiliating end less than a week ago and it hard to think of many positives outside of Ryan Kerrigan, Bashaud Breeland, Tress Way and DeSean Jackson. I still am not totally sold on Jackson. He did what he was supposed to do and because of that, he was viewed as a hero. When he does something I wasn't expecting, then I will praise and go a little crazy.
Redskins worst in NFC East that has never been worse | David Elfin on Sports
As bad as the Redskins have been while finishing in the NFC East basement in six of the last seven seasons, what makes that fact even worse is how bad the division has been lately. This was the fifth straight year that the NFC East didn’t have a wild card team, only sending its champion to the playoffs. This season that’s Dallas, which plays host to Detroit this afternoon.
Need to Know: Is Wade Phillips the right guy for the Redskins? | Rich Tandler's Real Redskins
The Redskins now have another couple of names in the pool to be their next defensive coordinator. Wade Phillips is set to interview sometime in the next several days. Jim Schwartz, former Titans and current Bills defensive coordinator and former Lions head coach, will not talk to the Redskins, at least not immediately. The Bills have denied the Redskins request to talk to Schwartz.
Redskins 2015 salary cap overview: Some room to operate | Rich Tandler's Real Redskins
The Redskins are going into 2015 in worse shape regarding the salary cap than they were a year ago. But if we take general manager Bruce Allen at his word that “free agency is not going to be your solution” they still should have plenty of room to operate and start the process of improving on their 4-12 record.
Will the Redskins make a run at Lions' Suh? | Comcast SportsNet Washington
Players to watch: Many have said that going after Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who will be the premiere free agent on the market if the Lions can’t lock him up, would be a very Redskins move to make.
The Redskins Blog | Karlie Harman, ‘Together We Make Football’ Finalist, Visits Redskins Park
Karlie Harman wants to be recognized as a football player, not as a female who is breaking barriers in a local Loudoun County youth football league. The 15-year-old who resides in Aldie, however, has been making waves for her performances on the gridiron in the Dulles South league. A quarterback who also takes on kicking and punting duties, Harman was recently named the league’s Player of the Year.
Free Agent Watch: Should Redskins poach from Bengals LB corp? | Comcast SportsNet Washington
On the Bengals side of things, Bruce Allen's staff should consider the impressive depth on Cincinatti's roster. Marvin Lewis' team wins on the strength of its defense, and a big part of that has been Rey Maualuga. An inside linebacker with skills in coverage, the former USC star could help the Redskins nickel defense as well as provide competition to Perry Riley as the second ILB playing alongside Keenan Robinson.
Exit Interviews Part Four: Adam Hayward
Let's check in with Redskins linebacker and special teams captain Adam Hayward as he prepares to go into the off season and he talks about why he loves to play for Jay Gruden.
Tress Way was a bright spot in a dreary Redskins' season | Comcast SportsNet Washington
Way finished the season tied for the league lead in average yards per punt (47.5) and 10th in net average (40.0 yards). The 24-year-old Oklahoma native was even in the mix for a berth in the Pro Bowl.
Ryan Clark Will Take Time To Decide Future
It’s something all football players have to go through, especially those who have logged serious mileage: "Will there be another season for me?" It hasn’t been any different for Ryan Clark at the conclusion of the past few seasons.
