Take it for what you will, but Jason La Canfora expects Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell to be signed by the Washington Redskins by tomorrow morning. The Redskins met with Fangio this weekend for dinner on Saturday night and an interview on Sunday. Fangio reportedly wasn't offered a contract by the Redskins after meeting with Redskins brass including Dan Snyder and Jay Gruden. Before coming to Washington, Fangio also met with the Chicago Bears new Head Coach John Fox and GM Ryan Pace. Today, Pace said the team also didn't offer him a deal, and they were talking to several other candidates.
The Redskins wanted to have the DC job filled last week, but Fangio's availability after being passed over for the 49ers Head Coaching job delayed those plans. San Diego Chargers LB coach Joe Barry was reportedly the candidate they planned on hiring, and he could still be the backup plan if the team can't come to terms with Fangio. It was reported earlier today that Clancy Pendergast was also interviewed for the position two weeks ago. The Redskins DC search has led to 7 known interviews for the job, and has been going for almost 3 weeks.
I'd expect Vig Fangio and Ed Donatell to agree to join the Skins coaching staff by Tues AM. Would be very surprised if they did not

So, if i'm a betting man, then get ready for Fangio and Donatell tel accept jobs with the Skins in the AM. The wait will only last so long

This won't make #Redskins fans sleep easy. I asked a source involved in Vic Fangio situation if JLC report was accurate? Very quick "NO"

The same source involved made it clear upon me double checking. "Not accurate" on JLC report of Fangio/Donatell to #Redskins in AM.

Former Raiders HC Dennis Allen is re-joining Saints in a senior defensive role, not heading to Chicago. Allen will work with NO DC Rob Ryan.
