The Washington Redskins have granted the Buffalo Bills permission to interview OL coach Christ Foerster. Foerster has been with the team since 2010 when Mike Shanahan was hired as Head Coach. He has previously coached OL with the 49ers(2008-2009), Ravens(2005-2007), and Buccaneers!(1996-2001), and he was the Dolphins Offensive Coordinator in 2004. Foerster has coached a unit that has largely relied on free agents, and has not developed many draft picks into starters.
The Bills have just signed a new Head Coach in Rex Ryan, and a new Offensive Coordinator in Greg Roman. Roman spent the last 4 years in San Francisco as their OC, but was available after Jim Harbaugh and the team parted ways. Foerster would presumably join the Bills to coach their Offensive Line. Foerster and Roman worked together when they were both coaches for the Baltimore Ravens. Foerster was the Assitant Head Coach/OL Coach and Roman was an OL assistant coach from 2006-2007. The Bills denied the Redskins permission to interview Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz over a week ago, but he was still in talks for their Head Coaching opening.
Bruce Allen indicated during his infamous postseason presser that there would be more changes coming to the Redskins front office and coaching staff. The first was DC Jim Haslett being let go, then came a new General Manager in Scot McCloughan, a new DC still needs to be picked. Has a new OL coach also been discussed, and planned for?
Interesting: Washington granted permission to Buffalo to interview Redskins offensive line coach Chris Foerster, per source.
