Washington Redskins vs Houston Texans Injury Report

Who's out and who's injured for tomorrow's game?

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

There isn't much surprise on the Redskins side of the ball.  CB Tracy Porter had offseason shoulder surgery after the only season he was able to play a full 16 game schedule.  He's been battling various injuries during the offseason, and the coaching staff has limited his participation in practice.  This past week he has missed practice and visited a second doctor outside of the Redskins facility for his hamstring(and other?) injury.  He has been ruled out of Sunday's game.

ILB Akeem Jordan injured his knee in the final preseason game vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, and it wasn't immediately clear how bad the injury was.  Coach Gruden initially said it was an ACL, then an MCL, and it sounds like it was a mild MCL sprain.  When final cutdowns came, Jordan's name was thrown out as a possible cut due to the uncertainty about his knee, but then Darryl Sharpton was placed on IR, and Jordan was kept on the 53-man roster.  He is also out for tomorrow's game.

Jordan Reed didn't play in the final preseason game, and had a thumb injury.  He's been a full participant in practice and should be more than ready for Sunday's game.  Brian Orakpo injured his ankle in the third preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens.  He's been limited in practice for the last two weeks.  He was able to practice fully yesterday, and will not miss the game in his home state of Texas where he will have a lot of family and friends in attendance(just don't wear any Texans gear if you don't want a pissed off Brian Orakpo).

The Texans new Head Coach Bill O'Brien is a Bill Belichick disciple, and he has learned how to list as many people as possible on the injury report every week from his former boss.  Here is the full injury report for the Houston Texans:
