Washington Redskins Inactive List; Jackson and Hatcher Active

New, comment

A pair of Cornerbacks will be making their Redskins debuts tonight.

Patrick Smith

The Redskins had 17 players listed on their injury report this week, which would have been a lot even if they weren't playing on a short week.  The final report listed three players out, 9 questionable and the last 5 were all probable for tonight's game.  WR DeSean Jackson was injured in Week 2, but was able to suit up last week against his former team and he will be doing the same this week against a team he's very familiar with.

One of the biggest concerns going into tonight's game was defensive line depth.  The Redskins have been suiting up 5 healthy DL for the last two games with the injuries to starting NT Barry Cofield(short-term IR), and Kedric Golston(groin, expected to play next week).  The biggest concern leaving the Philly game was Jason Hatcher's availability.  He left the game on Sunday with a hamstring pull and was limited in practice all week.  Losing him would be a big blow, but even if he plays, he could see less snaps tonight.  Chris Baker and Frank Kearse were also on the injury report, but both are expected to be a full go tonight.

Brian Orakpo will be active with a cast on his middle finger.  He could be switching sides with Ryan Kerrigan again to be able to have his uninjured hand in the dirt and available to fight off blocks.

Cornerbacks Tracy Porter and Chase Minnifield will make their Washington Redskins debuts tonight.  Tracy Porter was signed in the offseason, but has been nursing a hamstring injury since the preseason.  Minnifield will be active for the first game in his NFL career tonight.

LG Shawn Lauvao is out, which will give 3rd year guard Josh LeRibeus his first NFL start.

Bashaud Breeland should also be getting his first chance to start in place of DeAngelo Hall(IR)
