Just before tonight's game against the Giants, the Redskins have rounded out their 53-man roster by signing DL Robert Thomas off of their practice squad. He takes the spot left vacant by placing S Duke Ihenacho on season-ending IR. Though Thomas isn't a S, the move isn't totally unexpected as the Redskins are very banged up along their DL. Jason Hatcher, Chris Baker, Kedric Golston, and Frank Kearse are all questionable for tonight's game and it's believed that Golston won't be able to go again. If the others play, bringing up Thomas would outfit the Redskins with six potential DL tonight: Hatcher, Baker, Jenkins, Kearse, Geathers, and Thomas.
This move leaves a second opening on the Redskins PS. After promoting Chase Minnifield in the wake of losing DeAngelo Hall for the year, his spot was never filled. The team waived OL Braxton Cave and brought back OL Tevita Stevens, but that leaves the Redskins with two vacancies to fill on their PS.
Thomas primarily plays NT and is 6'3" and 325 lbs. He joined the team this offseason as an UDFA out of Arkansas.
