Panthers Sign Former Redskins RB Lache Seastrunk to Practice Squad

The Panthers announced today that they signed the Redskins 2014 sixth-round pick.

The Carolina Panthers signed rookie RB Lache Seastrunk to their practice squad today.  Seastrunk was the Redskins sixth-round draft choice in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Baylor after leading the Big 12 in rushing last year.  Many thought he'd make the Redskins 53-man roster after training camp and the preseason and then when he did not, most people thought for sure he'd make the practice squad.  However, the Redskins elected to not keep Seastrunk on the PS either.  He had a great preseason with the Redskins rushing for 121 yards on 25 carries (4.8 ypc) and catching two passes for 88 yards and a TD.  He was in a heated training camp battle with Silas Redd and Chris Thompson and ended up being the odd man out after Redd made the active roster and Thompson was stashed on the PS.  Before signing with the Panthers, Seastrunk had visited with the Packers and Bucs in recent weeks.
