The Redskins and Jaguars released injury reports today following practices today. There are 8 players on the list with a few new names showing up.
Both of the Redskins starting Offensive Tackles make an appearance on the injured list this week. Trent Williams has a shoulder injury that limited him in practice today. Tyler Polumbus is also on the list with an ankle injury, but he was able to fully participate today.
New Redskins safety Duke Ihenacho sprained his ankle today during individual drills and he was limited for the rest of practice. Coach Gruden said he should be fine, but he hasn't said who will start at strong safety Sunday, Ihenacho or Rambo. The Redskins signed safety Akeem Davis to the 53-man roster this week, but Gruden likes him mainly for special teams for now.
Jordan Reed appeared on last weeks injury report for a thumb injury, but this week he's listed for the hamstring strain he suffered against the Texans on Sunday. Reed did not practice today, and Gruden has indicated it is an extreme long shot that he plays vs the Jaguars. The Redskins didn't sign any tight ends to the 53-man roster that they worked out, but did sign Je'Ron Hamm to the practice squad who joins fellow TE Ted Bolser there.
Kedric Golston injured his groin on Sunday against the Texans, and he was unable to practice today. If Golston is out the defensive line depth will be tested due to Starting NT Barry Cofield being placed on injured reserve with the designation to return. Coach Gruden mentioned Frank Kearse and Clifton Geathers needing to step up and get into the rotation.
Brian Orakpo is still limited from the ankle injury he suffered against the Ravens 3 weeks ago. He only played in 84% of the snaps vs Houston last week, and was forced into coverage more than he would have liked.
That leaves Akeem Jordan and Tracy Porter. Jordan suffered an MCL sprain against the Buccaneers two weeks ago and hasn't practiced since. Tracy Port has been battling various injuries during the offseason, and the coaching staff has limited his participation in practice. He's visited another doctor for his hamstring, and has not practiced.
