Redskins Add Akeem Davis and LB Chaz Sutton to the Practice Squad

The Redskins now have a full 10 player practice squad after adding two players today.

Safety Akeem Davis was waived yesterday to make room for Duke Ihenacho who was claimed on waivers from the Denver Broncos. The Redskins coaches were very high on Davis's special teams abilities and Coach Gruden said they wanted to find a way to keep him on the team. Davis now has the chance to stay with the team, while working on getting back to the 53-man roster that he was on for less than a day. Team sources said yesterday after he was cut, that the plan was to sign him to the practice squad if he cleared waivers. Chaz Sutton(6'3", 245lbs) is an undrafted free agent LB who played college football at South Carolina where he played for 5 seasons. During his time there he played on the DL, and had 76 combined tackles, 20 TFLs, 9 sacks, 1 INT returned for a TD, 2 passes defended, and 4 forced fumbles. He was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the draft, and was waived August 24th. He only recorded 1 tackle in the second preseason game, and was not on the roster for the final game vs the Redskins.
