Redskins coach Jay Gruden said after last night’s preseason game in Tampa that he believes that the appeal hearing for Meriweather, who has been suspended the first two games of the season for repeated violation of NFL safety rules after an illegal hit on Ravens receiver Torrey Smith in a preseason game last Saturday, is slated to take place today. The rulings in these appeals generally come fairly quickly so we should know something by the end of the day.
