The Redskins didn't waste any time filling Blake Clingan's spot on the roster, and the punter battle is back on. Coach Gruden said that the team might still bring in another punter to compete with Robert Malone. The team claimed Tress Way, who played college ball at Oklahoma from 2008-2012. Way was waived by the Bears yesterday, and has reportedly struggled in camp and during the two preseason games. Way averaged 44.0 yards per punt while at Oklahoma. Way is most likely just a camp leg. Blake Clingan was clearly outmatched by Robert Malone in camp and in games, and it would take a very bad two weeks in games and camp for Malone to lose the punting job at this point. Tress Way is left footed, and here's your bad joke for the day.
I’ve always said there’s three ways to punt. The right way, the wrong way, and the Tress Way.
