The Redskins finished up a long week of practices that saw some live hitting, some rain, and a few injuries. Courtney Bridget Jr was the first major injury in training camp, and he was waived/injured after the team announced he suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder which will require surgery. He cleared waivers and will revert to the Redskins' injured reserve list. Here is a look at the player's with new injuries this week:
Jerry Rice Jr:
Jerry Rice Jr tore the labrum in his shoulder, and he will need surgery to repair it. This ends his rookie season with the Redskins and he will either be given an injury settlement or waived/injured like Bridget Jr, and placed on IR. Bruce Allen has not made an official roster move yet, but will be bringing in players to replace Rice Jr when he is eventually released. The move should happen by tomorrow.
DeSean Jackson:
Gruden said WR @DeSeanJackson11 was held out of practice with soreness in his legs. "We're just trying to keep him fresh."

Asked DeSean Jackson about missing practice. Said his hamstring was bugging him, but it wasn’t a big deal. Different one than at OTAs.

Rob Jackson:
LB Rob Jackson had his shoulder wrapped. Held him out of the final period. Gruden said he didn't have an update yet.

Aldrick Robinson:
Gruden said he thinks Aldrick Robinson has some soreness in his hamstring, but hasn't talked with Larry Hess in-depth after practice.

Trent Williams:
Trent Williams back in action after being kicked in the shin. Said he had a dent in his foot and was worried, but it didn’t hit bone.

Phillip Thomas and Pierre Garçon:
Wide receiver Pierre Garçon returned to full action after having his activities restricted the past two days. Garçon left Monday’s session with soreness in his hamstring, and Tuesday represented an off day for the team. Garçon took part in individual drills on Wednesday and Thursday, but didn’t take part in any one-on-one, seven-on-seven or 11-on-11 drills. Garçon didn’t look to be hampered in any way on Friday.
Safety Phillip Thomas (hamstring) also returned to practice in a limited capacity. He was held out Wednesday and Thursday, but ran each day. Thomas took part in individual drills Friday, but did not participate in team drills.
