2014 Outlook:
His chances are bleak. Madison looks to be a classic rookie body at training camp. As buried as he is in the depth chart, most of the guys ahead of him come with their own question marks. Camp will likely open with Ryan Clark (age) at Free Safety and Brandon Meriweather (age/injury/suspensions) at Strong Safety. Behind them are Tanard Jackson (Hasn't played in years) and Phillip Thomas (Health/inexperience). The third wave is Bacarri Rambo and Akeem Davis, both of whom are not roster spot guarantees. So, if a rookie free agent was to get his shot, safety for the Redskins is a good position to be in.
Aside from any unfortunate injuries or abysmal play by his safety counterparts, Madison's best chance to make the roster or (more likely) the practice squad will be in special teams with kick coverage. Last year, guys like Jordan Pugh and Jose Gumbs made the final 53-man roster partly because of Phillip Thomas's injury but also because of their special teams contributions. Madison has to catch ST Coordinator Ben Kotwica's eye whenever he takes that field.
