The Redskins and Head Coach Jay Gruden announced today that UDFA CB Courtney Bridget Jr was waived-injured with a shoulder injury. Bridget tore the labrum in his right shoulder during Monday's live-hitting practice and will need to have surgery, ending his rookie year. Bridget will revert to the team's IR if no one claims him from waivers.
Bridget was a player facing long odds to make the team this year, but there was hope that he could spend the year on the practice squad to develop. He had the size(6'3", 190lbs) that made him an ideal candidate for the Mason/Brennan Hype! Awards.
Earlier today it was reported that the Redskins were signing DT Jake McDonough. Smart insiders knew that Bridget was scheduled for an MRI after his injury on Monday, and there was a possibility he would be the player released to make room. Bridget should be back next season for a chance to make the roster, and most importantly compete for the Mason/Brennan.

Cornerback Courtney Bridget (shoulder) has been place on reserve/injured list, according to NFL transactions. He does not count vs. 90-man.
