The Washington Redskins Are the 9th Most Valuable Sports Franchise in the World

30 NFL teams are in the top 50 franchises in the world.

The Redskins are once again in the Top 10 for Most Valuable Sports Franchises in the world coming in at #9 this year with a value of $1.7 Billion.  The value of the team has increased by $100 million since last year but they have actually dropped 1 spot from last year's 8th place ranking.  The reason for the drop is Bayern Munich jumping 5 spots, going from 12th to 7th, with their value rising from $1.309 billion to $1.85 billion in the last year.

There are only two NFL teams who are valued higher than the Redskins this year, the Dallas Cowboys at #5($2.3 billion) and the New England Patriots at #8($1.8 billion).  The New York Giants come in at #10($1.55 billion) and the Philadelphia Eagles round out the NFC East as the least valuable team at #17($1.314 billion).  The Texans(#12) and Jets(#14) are the other NFL franchises that are more valuable than the Eagles.  30 of the NFL's 32 franchises appear on the Top 50 list this year, with only the Jaguars and Raiders not making the cut.

Here is a link to the full list, with three European soccer clubs taking the top 3 spots.  #1 Real Madrid($3.44 billion), #2 Barcelona($3.2 billion), and #3 Manchester United($2.81 billion).
