Akeem Davis

Strong Safety

Memphis

akeemdavis2000@gmail.com (if you feel like including him in your zany email chains)

Height: 6'0"

Weight: 201 lbs

40 time: 4.37

Vertical: 39.5"

Bench Reps: 225 lbs 19x

Career Stats (Memphis): 34 games, 162 tackles, three interceptions, nine pass breakups, five forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and two and a half sacks.

2014 Outlook: Davis was signed as an UDFA by the Seattle Seahawks in 2013, ultimately not making the team. He will have lesser competition to beat out in Washington to try and make it. As of right now he's a 3rd string player, but with safety being wide open, outside of Ryan Clark, Davis has a chance to make this team. With the speed and athleticism he brings to the table he could turn a few heads in camp and during preseason.

Roster Bubble: Training camp body...for now. Even the starters at both safety spots for the Redskins are sketchy at best. Ryan Clark is nearing retirement and Brandon Meriweather is just a guy...who gets penalties a lot. Behind them are Bacarri Rambo and Phillip Thomas, draftees from the 2013 class who are still unproven. If Akeem Davis makes a play in training camp that makes all the beat reporters tweet about it, I'll gladly move Akeem Davis to ON THE BUBBLE status.

Personal Info: Not to be all judgmental, but if I came from Memphis my highlight reel wouldn't feature classical music. I'd have Project Pat up in that piece.
