Tanard Jackson has never played a regular season snap for the Redskins, but there has been a lot of interest in his career over the last two years. Jackson played in the preseason for the Redskins two years ago, before he was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for violating the league's Substance Abuse Policy. The Redskins still retain his rights, and the 1 year, $700k contract that hew was signed to will be in effect for this season. This gives the Redskins the chance to evaluate if he can contribute this season, or cut him without any consequences.
The Redskins have been notified by the NFL that suspended S Tanard Jackson will be officially reinstated on Tues, per a league source

Tanard Jackson is under contract with the #Redskins. Won't be a free agent. He's essentially been out of football for 3 of last 4 years.

Tanard Jackson's last appearance in an NFL regular season game came in the finale of the 2011 campaign with the Bucs. #RedskinsTalk

After talking to someone in Skins organization, would say they classify Jackson as a wild card. If has something, great; if not, no harm.

I did not get the sense they would make decisions in draft based on having Jackson back. But: various people in org could view it different.

Last we heard from T. Jackson, he was an asst. coach at Gonzaga High. Here's @RobCarlinCSN's interview from August: http://t.co/CZPQJO6vMi
