Washington Redskins Draft Profile: Anthony Johnson, DT

Hogs Haven takes a look at the prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Anthony Johnson

Defensive Tackle

Height: 6’2"

Weight: 308 lbs

Louisiana State University

Strengths: Johnson is one of the most explosive linemen in the draft, with the quickness, strength, and balance to blow up any play at any time. He is a physical specimen that stood out at a school known for producing freak athletes. Is still very young and has the potential to be a perennially Pro-Bowler.

Weaknesses: Despite all the physical tools, the production just wasn’t consistent enough at LSU. Johnson had trouble finishing plays, letting guys get by him after beating his blocker.

Bottom Line: Johnson is a definitive boom-or-bust player. He did produce as expected at LSU, but he is still very young and raw developmentally. I believe that it would best suit him to serve as rotational player first, and not ruin him by starting him too soon.

Projected Round: 3rd to 4th

Team he fits best on: Chicago Bears, Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys
