Washington Redskins Draft Profiles: Jason Verrett, CB

Hogs Haven takes a look at NFL prospects heading into the 2014 draft

Jason Verrett

Cornerback

Height: 5' 9", Weight: 189 lbs.

Texas Christian University

Strengths: Verrett is quick. His 40-yard dash time at the Combine was 4.38 seconds and his vertical leap was measured at 39 inches. He has great instincts and footwork. Verrett is a confident player and is aggressive, resulting in nine interceptions with the Horned Frogs. He is also solid with run support and has special teams experience.

Weaknesses: Verrett's biggest weakness is his size. He plays with a lot of heart, but his size puts him at a disadvantage with tall, elite receivers. His tackling technique could use improvement. He was also called for a lot of offsides and holding penalties at TCU.

Bottom Line: Jason Verrett plays bigger than his size. However that only takes you so far in the NFL. He could be an asset on special teams.

Projected Round: 1-2

Team He Fits Best On: Panthers, Bengals, Browns, 49ers
